Abstract:

Background: Antisperm ANTIBODIES are a contributory factor in 8% to 12% of all subfertile couples. There is little information addressing the relationship of serum antisperm antibody level with antibody level in cervical mucus. Some studies showed no relation between serum antisperm antibody and its presence in female reproductive system secretions. This study initiated to find out any relation between antisperm antibody in serum and cervical mucus of infertile women.Materials and methods: as a cross sectional study, in 153 women who underwent infertility evaluation, serum and cervical mucus samples were obtained and the level of antibody and antisperm were measured by Immunobead test. Datas has been analyzied by statistical software of SPSS10 and regression statistical test. Results: The antisperm antibody level in serum did not correlate with the antisperm antibody level in cervical mucus. Also, the level of antisperm ANTIBODIES in serum didn't correlate with changing in estradiol levels. Conclusion: The data suggest that measurement of antisperm ANTIBODIES from a single fluid is not sufficient when evaluating a woman for immunological infertility. There are numerous and complex factors contribute to the expression of antisperm ANTIBODIES in women.

Background and Objectives: Pemphigus is an autoimmune intraepidrmal blistering disease which involves both skin and mucous membranes with pathogenic mechanism of autoANTIBODIES against desmosomes. The aim of the present study was to evaluate CIRCULATING ANTIBODIES in pemphigus vulgaris patients and to compare them with those in first degree families of patients with pemphigus vulgaris and control individuals.Materials and Methods: We performed indirect immunofluorescence test in 70 patients with pemphigus vulgaris and of their first degree relatives in dermatology clinic. Seventy patients with dermatologic problems other than pemphigus vulgaris were enrolled as control group. Then the results of the patients and their first relatives were compared with those of the control group. Results: The mean age of the patients in our study was 41.14±12.57 years. The mean age of the first degree relatives and the control group was 39.04±15.43 and 36.61±13.51years, respectively. In total, 57.14% of the patients were female and 42.86% were male. There was no significant relationship between gender and incidence of the disease (P=0.232). Indirect immunofluorescence test was positive in 94.29% of the patients and in 11.43% of the first degree relatives. Significant relationship was observed between patients and their families and control group. Conclusion: CIRCULATING pemphigus vulgaris ANTIBODIES in the first degree relatives of patients are more than those of the control group.

Background: There is growing evidence that supports oxidized LDL particles may have an ability to inhibit osteoblastic activity, and increase osteoclastic activity; hence these particles may lead the balance to osteoporosis. However, the relationship between oxidized LDL and osteoporosis has not been investigated in human studies yet. The main aim of the current population-based cohort study was to investigate the correlation between serum levels of oxidized LDL and bone mineral density (BMD) among postmenopausal women.Materials and methods: A total of 378 healthy, postmenopausal women were randomly selected from 13 clusters in the port city of Bushehr, Iran. Serum levels of oxidized LDL, MDA-oxidised LDL, osteoprotegerin (OPG), the receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand (RANKL), CrossLaps, and osteocalcin were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay methods. Bone mineral density (BMD) was measured at the femoral neck and lumbar spine at baseline and at follow-up 5.8 years later. Results: Annual bone loss was 0.82 % at the femoral neck and 3.55% at the lumbar spine among the women. No significant correlation was found among CIRCULATING MDA- oxidised LDL, ANTIBODIES against oxidised LDL and biomarkers of bone metabolism (P>0.05). There was no correlation between MDA- oxidised LDL, ANTIBODIES against oxidised LDL and BMD at all anatomic sites (P>0.05). In logistic regression analysis, neither oxidized LDL levels nor ANTIBODIES against oxidized LDL predicted incident lumbar or spine osteoporosis 5.8 years later. Conclusion: Neither serum levels of MDA-oxidized LDL nor ANTIBODIES against oxidized LDL was associated with BMD at the lumbar or femoral neck area. Neither serum levels of oxidized LDL levels nor CIRCULATING ANTIBODIES against oxidized LDL predicted incident osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

Abstract:

Cell Free miRNAs are small, non-coding molecules that can be secreted into the bloodstream in very stable forms. These types of miRNAs, like intracellular miRNAs, participate in the control of many biological processes and are expressed in both natural and pathological conditions. Quantitative and qualitative changes in expression of CIRCULATING miRNAs are associated with the onset and progression of cancer, but can be easily detected by some molecular biology methods. The most common methods for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of most cancers are aggressive, so finding accurate and non-invasive methods for early diagnosis, monitoring and control of cancer are essential. The CIRCULATING miRNAs affect not only cells near the site of secretion but also distant tissues, so, they can lead to cancer progression. Herein, we examined studies based on the identification of CIRCULATING miRNAs as noninvasive diagnostic biomarkers, prognostic, and of course important for the treatment of various types of cancers.
